Grip and Glock Work
I talked with Jim on the phone (great guy to talk to by the way). Told him what I was looking for. Told him I wanted a grip to scream Patriot when someone saw it. I ended up sending him 2 grips and 5 basepads to do. A week and change later, I got them back and they look AWESOME!!! Thanks to Jim for all that he does.
Oh by the way, on the phone, Jim advised me of the free paint service for the month of March. Now, I really appreciated the info as he didn't have to say a word to me about it. Honestly, I would have gladly paid full price for the work that Jim does.
One of my grips had been worked on before and the other was fairly stock (no stippling). On the one grip, Jim filled in the bottom holes and blended everything together, no extra cost!
Thank you Jim for the great job!

I am using a Shanahan grip and really like the stippling he has done on it. It has the best grip of the painted ones I have seen. It is also double cut nicely. I have undercut all my grips and really like this feature. Even on my airsoft guns!

I sent my SV grip to APS for Jim to do his undercutting and stippling. But, I had an additonal request, that I wasn't sure he could accomidate. Since my fingers are so freakin' long, I wanted the right side of the grip above the grip bushing built up so that it would push my finger out, giving me a better trigger finger placement. Jim said sure, no problem. He spent about 20 minutes or so on the phone with me, discussing what I was looking for. I sent him drawings of what I thought it might look like. Jim was able to turn my grip around in a week, and, didn't charge extra for the extra work, despite my offering to pay more. He did a really good job.
About 3 weeks ago, I asked Jim if he could do something similar on a AR grip. Sure, no problem was the reply. "Tape up the grip how you would like it, and send it in." So, I spent about an hour taping up my AR grip, so that it fit my hand the way I liked and pushed my triggr finger out enough so that I could place it on the trigger the way I wanted it. Jim built up my AR grip and stippled it and turned it around in a week.
I can't sing his praises enough. Not only great customer service, but excellent work and a fast turnaround. If you need your grip painted, cut, stippled and/or built up, Jim Shanahan can do it. I'll post some pictures of my grips, so you can see what an excellent job that he did.

I had Jim do my grip a while back in the "aggressive texture" for my sweaty hands in the summer and he did a fantastic job. The only problem I had was during an indoor match in the heat of summer I decided to borrow some progrip. Bad idea. With the grip being so aggressive I couldn't pivot the gun to reload, it just sorta hung there in space with my thumb not quite able to release the mag.
Shanahan's grips are the best!

+1 for Jim Shanahan's work... I've held one of his grip modded G35s in my hand and it's simply a different pistol. Especially, if you have small hands like I do... Not to mention, he has done his homework on resetting the grip to slide angle... I've been shooting stock grip Glocks for a lot of years, and the angle Jim had on that 35 I tried makes all the difference.
His paint jobs looked pretty cool to... I'm not painting mine, but my frame is goign to Jim as soon as I can get it to him.

Another thumbs up for Jim Shanahan. Ordered a new set of stippled grips early last week and it arrived on Saturday.
For months -- off and on -- I had been playing with getting my STI grip smaller to fit my hand (short index finger). I kept on thinning until I finally went too far. I don't know how Jim does it, but he shaped an agressive grip that is smaller than anything I came up with. Magic.

I wanted to give some "props" to Jim Shanahan
One of our Ohio Junior shooters sent his grip and a prize table coupon in to Jim for grip work. There was a mix-up in the shipping, and Jim didn't receive that grip for quite some time. But, once the grip made it to Jim, he took excellent care of our Ohio Junior shooter!
I happened to be handy when the grip came in. I helped install the grip. We had a few basic questions. A quick email to Jim, and a few minutes later he hit us with an Instant Message and handled the questions. Pretty cool.
